Specialists in Wedding Flowers
Hello lovely brides and grooms, My name is Rachel and I am the co owner and creative director of Juniper Rose Flower Studio (formerly Ina McCarthy for Flowers) based here in beautiful East Cork, a mecca for gorgeous wedding venues. How did it all start for me? Well my beautiful Mum Queen Bee Ina was always a florist and I was raised with flowers, I could make a buttonhole at 7 years old! After a serious illness Ina had decided to have no regrets in her life and finally open her own flower shop after years of working for others and Ina McCarthy for Flowers was established in 2006.
I was in Art college at the time and came for two weeks to help her set up and more years than I would like to admit later I’m still here. Having an Art background has really helped when it comes to creating colour and design for your special day.
Weddings are our absolute passion, I love coming up with the perfect colour scheme and individual ideas for your ceremony and venue. After our consultation where I get to know what you like and don’t like I will create a bespoke mood board just for you.

Your Questions... Answered!
-
Where can I see examples of your work?
You can see examples of our work mostly on Instagram and Pinterest, Facebook or our website. -
How can I check if my date is available and why is that important?
To inquire about an available date, you can call our shop and ask any member of our team (021- 461-3807) or contact us by email at [email protected]. This is crucial to moving forward and working with us. If the date is already booked for another wedding, unfortunately we cannot provide you with set up services on that date. We can only provide a shop collection service. -
My date is available, what do I do next?
If you like our work I would recommend booking and paying your deposit as dates get booked up quickly especially during peak periods. -
How can I secure my date?
Your date can be secured with a deposit of €150, which can be paid via credit card, cash, debit card, bank transfer or PayPal. The balance is to be paid 48 hours before the wedding date at the latest. -
How do we make a payment?
You can pay in store with cash or card or via phone to the shop number (021-461-3807) or in person if you are in the area. Any member of the florist team can take payment via phone using your debit/credit card with your date then being secured in the wedding diary. -
What is the next step after I pay my deposit?
Once you have your dress and bridesmaids dresses we will send you out a form to fill out prior to either a sit down consultation or consultations can be also done via phone for brides abroad or that find it difficult to meet in store. -
What is a consult and how do I arrange one?
A consult is a meeting with one of our Bridal Specialists to discuss further details about your wedding. A consult can only be booked once a deposit of €150 is paid to secure your date. A consult can only be attended once the Pre-consultation Form is completed and you have confirmed your bridal dress and bridesmaid dresses. It is usually attended by the bride alone, or with a brides’ family member or friend. The groom is welcome to attend however it should be noted that part of the consult involves discussing and viewing images of dresses, in particular the brides dress, to co-ordinate style and shades with flower choices. As this consult is crucial to making decisions, we invite the bride to invite one guest only in order to make decision making a smooth process. -
What is the duration of a consult and the procedure if I am late or unable to attend?
The consult will generally last 30 minutes, however this may be shorter or longer depending on requirements discussed. It will not last longer than one hour. If a bride is unable to attend she should call or email at least a day beforehand to reschedule. If a bride is more than 15mins late on the day, her appointment is cancelled and will have to be rescheduled for a later date. -
How are seasonal/non seasonal flowers sourced/priced for my wedding?
Some our flowers are locally sourced when available but the majority of our flowers are sourced from Holland and most are available year round. The difference lies in cost as out of season flowers are more expensive to order. -
Can you transport flowers to the church/ceremony and venue?
Flowers can be transported to the church/ceremony and venue at an additional cost. Most fall into two categories as listed below but some fall into a customised category if a full team or larger vans are needed.
A half day set-up involves transporting the flowers from the shop to the church/ceremony and setting up your flowers (at the church/ceremony only) the morning of your wedding. The cost is €100.
A full day set-up involves the above, with addition of transfer from church/ceremony to set up at your venue/afters. There is a minimum charge of €250 which may increase depending on the volume of flowers and additional staff needed for transfer and set up.
In addition, if your church/ceremony and wedding venue are out of area there is an increase in cost. Alternatively, your flowers can be packaged and collected free of charge the morning of the wedding, usually by a trusted friend or member of the family. If this is the case, you would need to provide us with the name and contact number of your nominated family member / friend. -
How do I receive my bridal bouquet?
As mentioned above, all flowers including your bridal bouquet can be collected from our shop or delivered and set up at the church/ceremony before your wedding begins.
We in general do not deliver to bridal homes, we can get a price from our regular daily driver for delivery upon request. -
What is the general response time with bridal emails received?
As you may understand, we cater for a huge amount of weddings and bridal work, in addition to regular shop orders and enquiries. In order to give you a personal response and dedicate time to respond thoughtfully, all bridal emails are answered on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The remaining days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are dedicated by using all hands to prepare, create, set up and ensure a smooth day for our brides on their big day. Sunday we are closed. Any duplicate emails or phone enquires regarding emails sent will not be responded to at a faster rate and we appreciate your co-operation with timely responses. -
Is there any time of year you are not available for wedding work?
We close our shop annually on the 24th of December and reopen the first week of January, the date dependent upon flower auctions in Holland. Therefore we do not cater for weddings over the Christmas and New year holidays.
We also do not cater for weddings on Sundays or bank holiday Mondays, we do provide a collection service for the day before and we can aqua pack the bouquets.
We in general do not do larger weddings during the peak periods of Valentines and Mothers day, we can cater for small weddings on these days as a collection service but we do not provide a set up service for these peak periods. -
Do you charge Vat?
A Vat charge of 13.5% will be added on to your final bill. -
If I cancel my booking, can I get my deposit back?
Our deposit is for securing your date with us, covers our admin time and consultation time at the start of booking and is non refundable. All deposits are deducted from the final bill. -
What happens if items get broken?
If our rental items get damage or broken, this is the responsibility of the couple. Replacement charged will be charged to recover a replacement.
